Liquid C2, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies, has officially opened what it describes as the first artificial intelligence and cloud experience centre on the African continent. Located in Johannesburg, the Partner Experience Centre was developed in collaboration with Google Cloud to provide a dedicated space for partners and resellers to design, test, and deploy sophisticated digital solutions tailored specifically for African markets. The facility serves as a practical hub where organisations can access enterprise-grade tools, such as Gemini Enterprise, and work alongside expert engineers to prototype applications before they are rolled out into operational environments.

Beyond its technical infrastructure, the centre places a significant emphasis on bridging the digital skills gap through a comprehensive onboarding and certification programme focused on Google Cloud technologies. By offering hands-on technical training and business guidance, Liquid C2 aims to empower its vast network of resellers to better serve sectors including telecommunications, banking, healthcare, and the public sector. This initiative is designed to transform the local technology landscape by ensuring that the workforce is equipped with the necessary expertise to compete on a global scalet.

The launch has garnered significant support from both industry leaders and government officials, who view the facility as a vital investment in the continent’s digital future. Strive Masiyiwa, the founder and chairman of Cassava Technologies, emphasised the importance of moving beyond theoretical discussions to focus on building the physical and educational ladders required for widespread AI adoption. Similarly, South African Communications Minister Solly Malatsi welcomed the centre as a vote of confidence in the local market, noting that such partnerships are essential for fostering meaningful connectivity and economic growth across the region.

“The time for us to talk about AI is over. This is a time for us to invest and build the infrastructure and put in place the digital ladder to enable AI services and ensure they are efficient.”
