Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has been unanimously re-elected to a second term as Chair of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA), a move that reinforces the nation’s pivotal role in shaping Africa’s digital security landscape. The reappointment, formalized at the 6th ANCA meeting on September 17, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco, was a clear vote of confidence from member states. Ghana was represented by Acting Director General, Mr. Divine Selase Agbeti.
ANCA, established under the Smart Africa Secretariat, serves as a crucial platform for fostering cooperation and knowledge-sharing among African nations to address the continent’s evolving cybersecurity threats. Under Ghana’s initial chairmanship, which began in 2023, the network adopted a comprehensive five-year strategic plan and drafted a constitution to guide its collective initiatives.
The decision to extend Ghana’s leadership tenure underscores the country’s significant contributions and its sustained commitment to building a more resilient and unified cybersecurity framework across the continent. Ghana’s re-election is seen as a continuation of its efforts to enhance regional collaboration and amplify Africa’s voice in international cybersecurity forums.
